Sophia received her BA in Anthropology (biological concentration) from Temple University in Pennsylvania. Her research focus is on non-human primate behavioral ecology, with particular interest in nutrition and energetic trade-offs. During her first primatology field season, she worked with Nature’s Valley Baboon Project in South Africa, focusing on feeding behavior on indigenous versus alien plant foods.
