Undergraduate students Isabelle Anderson (UW-Madison) and Gabrielle Mostow (Harvard University) presented posters on their summer projects at the Midwest Primate Interest Group meeting in Chicago in September 2025! Both students spent their summer in Nature’s Valley, South Africa, studying wild chacma baboons as part of the Nature’s Valley Baboon Project (NVBP). Isabelle’s project examined the contribution of indigenous versus invasive alien plants in the baboon diet, while Gabrielle examined the activity budgets of the baboons before and after a wildlife-proof bin intervention. Also in attendance were NVBP co-directors Dr. Kris Sabbi, Dr. Margaret Bryer and undergraduate researcher Gabby Ralphe who completed a project this summer on grooming equitability in females baboons before and after a fusion.
